Lava Stones, also known as extrusive rocks, belong to magmatic rocks (igneous rocks). They are extrusive rocks formed by magma ejected from volcanic vents and cooled on the surface.

The elasticity and toughness of lava stone materials are much higher than those of steel; their strength is higher than that of light metal alloys, and their corrosion resistance is higher than that of glass.

c.Regulate climate.
The natural holes of lava stone give it a unique breathing function, which can regulate air humidity and improve the ecological environment.

d.Well heat-insulated.
Because the original stone of lava stone is formed by the condensation of volcanic lava, it has obvious light-absorbing and heat-blocking functions in an extremely high-temperature environment.

Should the pores in Black Lava be filled for my application?

The selected material features a dark volcanic surface with visible open pores. Decide from a sample of the proposed finish. Open pores, colour-matched filling and contrasting filling produce different cleaning demands and visibly different surfaces.

Does a dark photograph establish the colour of filled lava stone?

No. Approve the actual dry finished lava and filler together. Filling, polishing or a treatment can change the visual balance between the dark ground and its pores; a wet image does not define the completed surface.

What should be inspected when an edge cuts through larger pores?

Review the remaining stone around the pore and the finished edge quality. Confirm how any exposed void will be treated. The natural pore pattern is not automatically defective, but unsupported weak edges or inadequate filling require separate attention.

Can Black Lava be specified for exterior paving from its volcanic origin alone?

No. Obtain evidence for the actual material, finish, exposure and loading. Open pores do not by themselves establish freeze-thaw performance or a particular wet slip result. Approve the paving system and representative finished units before production.

Will sealing make the open-pored surface waterproof?

Do not use a sealer as a substitute for the required drainage or waterproofing design. If treatment is proposed, trial it on the selected lava to check appearance and compatibility with any filling. State whether pores are intentionally left visible.
