Striato Travertine

Striato Travertine is a popular travertine stone quarried in Italy. It is characterized by creamy beige to light brown wood veins, blending with striking blue striations. This travertine has better hardness compared to other travertine stones. Its natural appearance, good hardness, and reasonable price make it a popular choice for modern and classical designs.
Can Striato Travertine be used for vanity tops?

Yes, if it is filled and proper sealed, it can be used for vanity tops.

What is the disadvantage of travertine?

The travertine stones are porous, which means it may get stained with dust and dirt easily. So we usually filled the holes to protect them from dirt.

How much is Striato Travertine?

The prices depends on the quality, thickness, size and finish of the slabs. Usually, the price of 18 mm thick big slabs ranges from US$40 to US$100 per square meter.

Striato Travertine Slabs

Striato Travertine Slab has unique striped beige, gray, and blue textures. The types of slabs are various, you can tell us which type you prefer, and we will show you the available slabs or cut big blocks for you. All our slabs are cut from big blocks and can be customized to meet specific requirements for dimensions and thickness. We can process different surface finishing for the travertine for various design possibilities.

Surface: Polished, Honed, Brushed, Leather, etc.
Holes: Filled, Unfilled
Glue for holes: Colored, Transparent
Thickness: 18 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm, or as your requirements.

Striato Travertine Tiles

Striato Travertine Tiles are widely used for reception tops, lobby floors, lobby walls, bathroom floors, and bathroom walls.

For floor tiles, we recommend polished surface and honed surface with holes filled.

For wall tiles, you can choose the holes unfilled or filled, both look great. If you are worried that the tiles may get dust and dirt, you can choose the tiles with holes filled.

You only need to send us the sizes and relative details, we will select good slabs to cut into specific sizes and make the veins matched or continuous. Then we will do pre-layout jobs. We will also have the tiles sealed with waterproof sealers, and this will last about three months to six months.

FAQ

faq stone
What should I know about Striato Travertine?
This product is natural travertine, a carbonate stone with characteristic layers and pores. Its appearance features cream-beige and light brown layers mixed with cooler blue-grey stripes.
What should I focus on when selecting Striato Travertine?
Keep the cooler stripes aligned while agreeing the pore-filling treatment. Ask for current material photographs and a representative physical sample before final approval.
How do I approve the cream, brown or golden undertone?
Compare a physical sample beside the intended timber, paint, metal and flooring, under both daylight and the proposed interior lighting. Include a range sample if the stone varies substantially. A screen image should guide selection, not act as the final colour standard.
Will the finished piece look as blue as the photograph?
Not necessarily. Blue intensity depends on the particular slab, neighbouring minerals, finish, lighting and camera settings. Approve an unfiltered full-slab view and a physical sample. If blue coverage is critical, mark the required area on the cutting layout.
Can the bands run continuously around a corner?
Often a convincing continuation can be planned, but it depends on slab sequence, cutting direction and the material removed by the saw. Approve a scaled layout of the top, return and edge before cutting. A natural band will not always meet its counterpart perfectly.
Should the grain run vertically or horizontally?
Either may be appropriate. Long bands can emphasize the height of a wall or the length of a worktop. Mark the chosen direction on the approved drawings and on each finished piece; rotating a panel during installation changes the design.
Should I order vein-cut or cross-cut travertine?
Vein cutting emphasizes directional layers; cross cutting produces a more clouded and less linear pattern. Both come from natural stone, but they should be approved as different visual selections. State the cut explicitly and review a representative group before production.
Is filled travertine better than unfilled stone?
They serve different appearance and maintenance preferences. Filled stone gives a more continuous surface; open pores retain a more textured character but can collect dirt. Specify the filling material and colour, and confirm that the treatment suits the application and exposure.
Can travertine be used in a shower or bathroom?
It can be specified with appropriate filling, finish, bedding, waterproofing and maintenance. Do not rely on the stone or sealer to waterproof the room. Floor slip performance and drainage should be checked, and acidic descalers should be avoided on this carbonate stone.
Can new holes appear or the filling require maintenance?
Filling is part of the finished surface and may need attention over time. Local cavities can also be exposed by cutting or wear. Agree acceptable pore and repair appearance before supply and retain suitable material or repair information for maintenance.
Is every travertine suitable for freezing outdoor conditions?
No blanket assumption is appropriate. Assess the particular stone, filling, water exposure, freeze-thaw evidence, drainage and installation design. A trade name or a honed sample alone does not establish outdoor performance.
Are slab dimensions and thickness fixed for this product?
No permanent stock size is implied by the trade name. Confirm the current slab list, actual thickness and usable dimensions after trimming or excluding unsuitable areas. For custom block cutting, agree feasibility and quantity before committing to a finished-piece layout.
Can I buy slabs or have the pieces fabricated in China?
We can quote slabs, cut-to-size pieces and project fabrication based on the approved material and drawings. The scope can include surface finishing, edge processing and layout selection. Confirm which operations and inspection steps are included in the quotation.
Can bookmatched or vein-matched panels be supplied?
They can be considered when the selected slab sequence and cutting direction support the design. A bookmatch requires suitable paired faces; a vein match may use a different arrangement. Approve photographs and a scaled layout before reserving material or authorizing cutting.
Are filled veins or a mesh backing automatically a defect?
Not automatically. Resin filling and reinforcement are used on some natural stones, but the type, extent and visibility should be disclosed and approved. Assess open cracks, loose areas and inadequate repairs separately. Backing compatibility also matters for adhesives, exterior exposure and backlighting.
Should I choose polished, honed or textured stone?
Polished surfaces emphasize colour and reflection; honed surfaces reduce gloss; textured finishes alter touch, shadows and cleaning behaviour. Availability depends on the selected stone and required dimensions. Approve a real finish sample, including an edge, before authorizing the full order.
Can it be specified for floors or exterior walls?
Suitability is project-specific. Check wear expectations, wet slip performance, climate, fixing, moisture management and maintenance. Carbonate surfaces can weather or lose their polish outdoors; a material used on an interior wall should not automatically be approved for an exterior facade or a busy wet floor.
How can I compare quotations fairly?
Compare the same identified material, visual selection, usable yield, thickness, finish and fabrication scope. Include edge work, openings, matching requirements, packing and delivery terms. Ask for these items to be stated clearly so the offers can be compared on the same basis.
What information should I send with an enquiry?
Send the product name or reference, quantity, destination and intended application, plus drawings with dimensions, thickness, finish, edges and openings. Include the preferred slab appearance and any matching or layout requirements. State whether you need slabs or finished pieces.
Which technical values can be included in the specification?
Use documentation identifying the actual supplied material or manufactured product, with the test method, units and sample conditions. Request water absorption, bending strength, abrasion and freeze-thaw performance where relevant. A value copied from a similarly named stone or a composite-panel report should not be presented as a universal property of this product.
What affects minimum quantity and production time?
They depend on the selected lot or block, matching requirements, cutting yield, fabrication details and shipping arrangements. We can confirm the proposed quantity and schedule once the material and drawings are agreed. Include your required delivery date with the enquiry.
How are the pieces packed for export?
Packing should suit the piece size, weight, finish and fragile details. Protect exposed edges and keep narrow or cutout pieces properly supported. Agree protective separation, crate or rack design, packing labels and inspection photographs. Wood-packaging compliance should be checked for the destination and the actual packing materials.
Can you support shipping to our project destination?
We can coordinate export packing, shipment information and global shipping support within the agreed supply scope. Confirm the delivery term, port or final address, unloading access and responsibility for clearance, duties and local installation before ordering. Freight and transit estimates should be confirmed for the actual shipment.
What is the routine cleaning method?
Use a soft cloth or mop and a cleaner approved for the identified stone and surface treatment. Remove spills promptly, rinse residues and avoid abrasive tools. Do not use acidic descalers or aggressive stain removers without confirming compatibility on the actual material.
