What should a lighting mock-up include for Backlit Ruby Onyx?

The selected material features yellow, pale and dark red layers with a wood-like banded appearance. Show yellow, pale and dark red bands with the intended backing. A bright section alone will not represent the complete wood-like colour sequence.

How should openings and exposed edges be detailed beside the yellow and dark red layered bands?

Confirm the actual slab condition and any supporting backing before locating an opening or exposed edge. A translucent-looking area is not a strength assessment. For a prominent returned edge, approve a fabricated sample showing how stone, any backing and the visible joint meet.

Could supports or joints interrupt the yellow and dark red layered bands in a backlit wall?

They may appear as shadows or changes in brightness. Include one joint, the proposed support and any backing in the lighting mock-up. Position those elements together with the band or cloud pattern instead of adding them after the decorative layout has been approved.

Can Backlit Ruby Onyx be used for a bar top as well as a decorative front?

Assess these uses separately. The decorative appeal of the yellow and dark red layered bands does not establish suitability for a working surface, which also depends on material identity, repairs and support. Architectural onyx is often carbonate-based and acid-sensitive; confirm the supplied composition and care requirements before promising a low-maintenance bar top.

Would mirroring make the yellow and dark red layered bands too dominant?

Preview the actual slab pair at the finished panel size. Mirroring can repeat a large cloud or accentuate a band junction. A continuous or asymmetric arrangement may suit the selected material better; neither layout should be approved from an unrelated sample photograph.
