Does Italy Black Marble provide evidence of an Italian quarry source?

The selected material features black marble with pale branching veins. Confirm provenance for the actual black, pale-veined material. The Italy Black trade name is not a substitute for origin documentation.

Will a matte finish keep the same contrast in the pale branches in the black field?

Not necessarily. Compare the actual stone in the proposed sheen before approving colour: a dark polished field may read lighter when honed, changing the contrast of its markings. Handle and wipe the sample under the room lighting so surface residue is assessed as well as the initial appearance.

Can the pale branches in the black field be positioned deliberately in custom pieces?

We can prepare a layout using the selected slabs and project drawings. Mark which areas should remain visible and include all openings and returns. More selective positioning may reduce usable yield, so approve the proposed composition before committing to a particular slab allocation.

What changes should I expect if Italy Black Marble is used on a kitchen or bar top?

Acidic spills can leave dull etch marks on the identified carbonate surface, including areas around the pale branches in the black field. The markings do not need to disappear for a change in sheen to become visible. Choose this marble or limestone when that maintenance expectation is acceptable; ordinary penetrating sealing does not prevent acid etching.
