Indoor tiles, kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops normal surface is polished and honed. Outdoor tiles are flamed and bushhammered for anti-skid. Can one finish sample represent all applications of Dark Grey G654 Granite?

The selected material features dark grey granular granite with contrasting lighter mineral specks. Approve the specific G654 source in the intended paving or cladding finish. A polished sample does not establish the colour of a textured exterior surface.

Will a matte finish keep the same contrast in the dark grey G654 grains?

Not necessarily. Compare the actual stone in the proposed sheen before approving colour: a dark polished field may read lighter when honed, changing the contrast of its markings. Handle and wipe the sample under the room lighting so surface residue is assessed as well as the initial appearance.

How should the dark grey G654 grains look on a finished edge?

Approve an edge sample from the selected lot rather than comparing only flat colour chips. Check for chips, missing grains and inconsistent polishing at mineral changes. The exposed edge should relate to the face, although a narrow edge naturally shows a smaller portion of the grain pattern.

How can the dark grey G654 grains be kept balanced across repeated pieces?

Review actual cut-size outlines or a dry layout of finished pieces, not just an average colour sample. Keep the size and concentration of the most conspicuous mineral areas within the agreed range. A visually acceptable slab can still yield pieces with quite different pattern coverage.

Do not assume a dark background conceals them. Assess stain protection on the actual stone, including areas around the dark grey G654 grains, and inspect the chosen finish after handling and wiping. Surface residue and absorbed staining are different issues and should not receive the same treatment by default.
