Calacatta Apuano Marble

Calacatta Apuano Marble is a luxury white marble, sourced from Italy, a type of Calacatta White.

It is an elegant white marble with a jade-textured, pure white background, with cloudy and misty grey veins that float freely on the surface of the slab; it is unique and different from other marbles.

It is one of the most durable marbles, popular for all projects, home decoration, and designs.

We always keep thousands of square meters of 1.8cm big slabs in stock to meet customers’ requirements. All of the slabs are book match polished.

Available slab sizes: 2540~3120 x 1560~1980 x 18mm. The sizes are big, good for doing the cutting plan.

The main difference from the slabs is the veins: some with clear veins, some with few veins, and some full of veins, but all look elegant. Customers’ choice depends on preference.

We also have large-quantity blocks in stock, and they will be cut in China. Customized sizes are welcome; the MOQ is 1 block.

How can I select a cleaner white background in Calacatta Apuano Marble?

The selected material features a milky white ground with soft grey veining and cloudy transitions. Mark the maximum acceptable grey clouding on a range sample. Otherwise a slab can meet the product name while looking greyer than the approved interior palette.

Would polishing or honing better preserve the soft grey clouds?

Compare both on the selected white or pale material. Polishing adds reflection; honing gives a lower-gloss presentation that may change the apparent contrast of fine markings. Approve a dry face-and-edge sample so the chosen finish works on the detailed piece, not only on a large display slab.

Can the soft grey clouds be positioned deliberately in custom pieces?

We can prepare a layout using the selected slabs and project drawings. Mark which areas should remain visible and include all openings and returns. More selective positioning may reduce usable yield, so approve the proposed composition before committing to a particular slab allocation.

Could the bedding change the pale areas around the soft grey clouds?

Pale stone can reveal an unsuitable bedding colour or uneven installation moisture. Have the installer trial a non-staining system with the actual slab and any backing. Approve the dried result, including a joint; a sealer does not conceal poor bedding or replace the wet-area waterproofing design.

What changes should I expect if Calacatta Apuano Marble is used on a kitchen or bar top?

Acidic spills can leave dull etch marks on the identified carbonate surface, including areas around the soft grey clouds. The markings do not need to disappear for a change in sheen to become visible. Choose this marble or limestone when that maintenance expectation is acceptable; ordinary penetrating sealing does not prevent acid etching.
