Is Athens Portoro Marble interchangeable with documented Italian Portoro?

The selected material features a black background with golden vein movement in a Chinese Portoro-style selection. Keep the Chinese Portoro-style selection distinct. Match its actual golden movement and source rather than transferring an Italian quarry specification by name.

Will a matte finish keep the same contrast in the golden movement in Chinese black stone?

Not necessarily. Compare the actual stone in the proposed sheen before approving colour: a dark polished field may read lighter when honed, changing the contrast of its markings. Handle and wipe the sample under the room lighting so surface residue is assessed as well as the initial appearance.

Can the golden movement in Chinese black stone be positioned deliberately in custom pieces?

We can prepare a layout using the selected slabs and project drawings. Mark which areas should remain visible and include all openings and returns. More selective positioning may reduce usable yield, so approve the proposed composition before committing to a particular slab allocation.

What changes should I expect if Athens Portoro Marble is used on a kitchen or bar top?

Acidic spills can leave dull etch marks on the identified carbonate surface, including areas around the golden movement in Chinese black stone. The markings do not need to disappear for a change in sheen to become visible. Choose this marble or limestone when that maintenance expectation is acceptable; ordinary penetrating sealing does not prevent acid etching.
