FAQ

Find answers to common questions about our stone products, including materials, sizes, finishes, applications, customization, packaging, delivery, and project support.

faq stone
Is the blue crystal in Calcite Blue Marble a reason to expect quartzite performance?
The selected material features blue-to-grey crystalline stone with contrasting white areas. Treat the offered material as marble unless reliable identification establishes otherwise. A crystalline blue appearance does not remove carbonate-stone care considerations.
What should a finish sample show in the blue-grey and white crystalline areas?
Include both the crystalline areas and their surrounding mineral material. View the dry face under side lighting and compare the finished edge. Any resin-filled areas should be visible in the approval sample; a glossy photograph can conceal differences that become apparent on a matte surface.
What should be checked when an opening crosses the blue-grey and white crystalline areas?
Review the actual crystalline zones, mineral boundaries and any repairs before finalising the opening. Their decorative appearance does not establish structural soundness. The fabricator should confirm the edge finish and support of the remaining sections; the clearest-looking area is not automatically the best place for a narrow rail.
Can the blue-grey and white crystalline areas be positioned deliberately in custom pieces?
We can prepare a layout using the selected slabs and project drawings. Mark which areas should remain visible and include all openings and returns. More selective positioning may reduce usable yield, so approve the proposed composition before committing to a particular slab allocation.
What changes should I expect if Calcite Blue Marble is used on a kitchen or bar top?
Acidic spills can leave dull etch marks on the identified carbonate surface, including areas around the blue-grey and white crystalline areas. The markings do not need to disappear for a change in sheen to become visible. Choose this marble or limestone when that maintenance expectation is acceptable; ordinary penetrating sealing does not prevent acid etching.
