As we all know, China black granites enjoy a good reputation in the world, and Mongolia Black Granite is a member of China black granites, plays an indispensable role.
Origin from Inner Mongolia, the northern part of China, this stone is absolute/pure/solid black, the grain is very very small, can be neglected. Black means solemn and formal, it is an eternal hot sale product all the time. For the designers, it is a popular decoration material.
Compared with another two famous China black granites (Shanxi Black and Hebei Black), it has much smaller grains, and the prices are much cheaper.
This stone is widely used for flooring tiles, skirting, headstone (tombstone), kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity tops, etc.
The Features of Mongolia Black Granite
Because its quarry is located in north China when the Winter coming, the temperature will be under zero degrees centigrade, and the water will be frozen, thus the quarry can not be opened, and the price will rise, the time is from the October to the April of next year.
Secondly, this stone also belongs to the basalt, generated from the volcano, not like other granite blocks, its blocks sizes are small, difficult to make big slabs, the highest is about 100cm, and you may find its slabs length is not consistent, but their length all can meet your requirement, so in fact, it is no problem.
Due to it is basalt, from the volcano, some of this stone may have some holes on the surface, this is an important standard to judge the quality. For the polish finishing, the holes will be filled. Normally, this slabs with holes are for the flamed finishing. If you require no holes, we can supply it.
Some Mongolia Black granite will have small white spots, this defected area can be avoided when cutting.
Different Surface Finishing of Mongolia Black Granite
Polished, honed, flamed, bush-hammered, and sandblasted are the popular surface finishing of Mongolia Black granite, customized surface treatment is welcome, we can test for you.
Different surface finishing has a different function, polishing is the best way to show the solid colour, the surface is smooth, it is most popular, it can be used everywhere, such as flooring, wall cladding, skirting, countertops, headstones, etc.
Honed surface, also called matt finishing, give people another feeling of elegance, the stone colour becomes grey, the surface is smooth, too, but not as shiny as polishing. Australia customers like this finishing so much, it has a little anti-slip function, usually used for bathroom flooring, sometimes for countertops (benchtops).
Flamed is the second most popular processing method, second only to the polished. Some clients call it heating or burning. After flaming, the stone surface becomes rough, it is very helpful for anti-slip, popularly used for outdoor flooring, steps, etc. The thickness should be over 1.5cm for flamed finishing because, under extremely high temperature, the stone becomes fragile, easily broken, thinner the stone is, more breakage will be.
After flame, we will brush the stone surface one or two times, to make it be friendly our naked hand touching and remove the rust dirt. If it is brushed by over 5 times, the surface will become smooth, we call it leather finishing because it is touched like the leather, this surface processing is most used for bathroom flooring and tabletops.
Bush-Hammered is another surface treatment for the anti-slip function, after bush-hammered, the stone surface will be full of shallow and small holes, same as the flamed finishing, this processing is widely used for outdoor flooring and steps. Because the stone will be under the very high-pressure impact, it has a higher requirement for the thickness, it should be 2.5cm up.
Sandblasted is similar to bush-hammered, but its holes are much smaller and the quantity is larger, its touch feeling is more comfortable, because of the different processing procedure, the stone with under 2.5cm thickness can be sandblasted, too. These surface treatment products can be used for bathroom flooring.
Tiles & Cut to Size
Tiles and cut to size are the common products we did, we use the CNC cutting machine to cut the slabs, this can guarantee the tiles sizes precisely.
The sizes, thickness and surface finishing are usually at customer’s request, the popular sizes have
300mm*300mm, 305mm*305mm (12”x12”), 300mm*600mm, 305mm*610mm (12”x24”), 457mm*457mm (18”x18”), 600mm*600mm, 610mm*610mm (24”x24”), etc
Normally, bigger the size is, higher the price will be. Popular thicknesses are 10mm (3/8”), 12mm (1/2”), 15mm (5/8”), 20mm (3/4”), 30mm (1 1/4”), etc.
Packing:
1) Inside Carton, outside fumigated seaworthy wooden crates or pallet for 10mm (3/8”) thick tiles
2) Fumigated seaworthy wooden crates or pallet, reinforced with plastic straps for other tiles and cut to size.
Slabs
If customers own factory, they will buy the slabs and cut by themselves, thus, can save much cost, the left material can be used for other projects.
Same as the tiles and cut to size, the slabs can have many different surface processing.
Popular slabs sizes are 180UP/240UP/270UP*60UP/65UP/70UP/75UP/80UP/85UP*2cm/3cm, etc

Skirting & Borders
Skirting and borders are an important part of house decoration, they are the embellishment of the house.
Most of them are in polished or honed finishing and because one long edge of the skirting will be exposed, then it will be polished, the profile is customized.
The thickness of the border is the same as the other tiles surround, they are 1.5cm, 1.8cm, 2.0cm usually. However, the skirting thickness is about 1.0cm, because if it is too thick, it will occupy too much space of the house.
The size of skirting and borders is about 600x100mm, customized sizes and designs are welcome.

Tombstone (Headstone) & Shadow Sculpture
Black represents dignity and solemnity. Mongolia black is a very good natural material for tombstone (headstone). Its good texture and excellent hardness ensure that it still has a very good appearance after numerous winds and rains.
The sizes of tombstone (headstone) are multiple, popular thicknesses have 3cm, 4cm, 5cm, 6cm, 8cm, 10cm, etc. They usually have 5 sides polished. The sizes and design can be customized.
Because of the fine grain of Mongolia Black granite, this material is very suitable for Shadow Sculpture (Photo Carving), the size is at the client’s request.

Kitchen Countertops (Benchtops, Worktops) & Bathroom Vanity Tops & Table Tops
Because Mongolia black granite density is higher than other granites, over 3 g/cm3, it has low water absorption rate, so it is good for kitchen countertops (benchtops, worktops), bathroom vanity tops and table tops, especially for kitchen countertops, it can be isolated from oil, soy sauce, vinegar, coffee, coca-cola, etc effectively.
The bathroom vanity tops made from Mongolia Black granite is also very distinctive, the right-side vanity tops are fabricated at our customer’s request, two pieces laminated together, basin and faucets holes cutout, the customer was very satisfied with our job.
